Christmas Day Photos

Aidan sure figured out how to open presents! Check out the photos…let the wrapping paper fly! :)

Much fun with family and friends this weekend. And I think there will be more tonight at Robb and Olga’s with their new Playstation 3! Wow, so many people were very thoughtful and got Aidan and Nick and I gifts straight from the heart. Thank you! I am soooo tired right now. I am looking forward to spending tomorrow with my little cousin Amber (not so little I guess … she’s in high school now… yikes!) Got to see my cousin Art from the Army yesterday, that was so neat. Aidan loves his big cousins Art and Bryan.

This morning we went to Nick’s parents’ house and had a great breakfast. Nick’s mom made a french toast casserole, scones, devonshire cream, jam (yes she even made the jam from scratch as usual, hehe), lil’ smokies, and fresh fruit. We also opened gifts…mainly Aidan… he hit the jackpot because mommy stayed up shopping on Amazon.com too much in the first part of December. Thank goodness for the free shipping, lol. His favorite new toy so far is the farm animals ‘See and Say’.

We LOVE the Christmas outfit we got for him. He looks so sweet in it.

And of course, the best part of this whole day is remembering why I choose to celebrate it; the birth of Jesus. I thank God for all the blessings He has given to our family and to me personally. I hope your Christmas has been as wonderful as this and more.

Countdown to Christmas

http://www.noradsanta.com/Countdown_to_Christmas.htm

Aidan is sick with a cold. Poor guy.

So I am home with him today, and probably tomorrow. Got a chance to blog a bit (as you can see) while he was “napping”. Ugh…Aidan, go to sleeeeeep.

Watched Finding Nemo again, …. thrilling. Please if anyone buys Aidan Christmas presents, get him new DVD’s. We don’t have “Cars”… I hear that’s good. lol. I watch “Monsters, Inc.”, “Finding Nemo”, and “The Wild” a lot. “The Wild” is the one that I am less sick of for sure.

We have “Emperor’s New Groove” but he doesn’t like that movie. Not sure why. We put it in and he stands there (he usually plays or something while it’s on, paying attention to his favorite parts) … just stands there… then after a few minutes of realizing this is not on his “approved” viewing list or whatever he goes, “ah hoo wah hee ah ho ho ho” like the “Tank Gang” in Finding Nemo to let us know we put the wrong movie in. We then change it and he’s fine. We tested the this 3 times… every time. Sheesh, picky picky…

Ok, I am tired… and I think he is chilling out. Going to maybe take a little nappie poo….

Raspberry The Fishie RIP

On Aidan’s first Halloween (2005) he was a little lion (so cute). We went to the festival at Nick’s parent’s church and Nick’s mom got Aidan a little magenta beta fish. It was exactly the color of a raspberry…hence the name, Raspberry. This was Aidan’s fishie.

Nick had noticed Raspberry hadn’t been eating her food much lately. On Sunday night he noticed her color was paler. And Monday morning we woke up and he found that little Raspberry was all white and had died. We were all sad and I think Aidan was upset when he saw the fishie not moving. I know he could tell something was wrong.

Every morning Aidan wakes up and says hi to our 2 fish, Mandarin (our Koi) and Raspberry (after saying fish like 10 times, hehe). He would talk to them and tell them each something (God only knows what) each day. Then before leaving his room as we would get ready to leave in the morning he would wave and say bye to each of them. He only does it to Mandarin now, even though Raspberry’s bowl is still there (just the bowl w/rocks…no water or fish of course). It’s so weird that he kind of knows or something.

RIP little Raspberry… Aidan’s first pet and “buddy”.

So I got back like 3 1/2 weeks ago from my conference and I thought I’d rush home to tell you how my flights went (ha… ha…).

Flight to Vegas:

Getting on the plane… um everyone I was with was pretty nervous. I wasn’t so much (how was that?) but I feigned it a bit… I felt weird not being nervous. Silly. First thing after getting the seat belt on was commandeering the ‘barf bag’ of the empty seat next to me. So I had 2 just in case.

Wow, very rumbly getting all revved up to take off. It was surreal. We took off, and I thought not so bad… and then we went all roller coastery and my tummy was going whhheeee. Oh wait, no, that was me actually saying whhheeeee… or more of a whhoooooOOOhhhh. Yah, that’s right folks, I made noise in the plane… not embarrassing noise, just a little noise. No one cared least of all me, HA.

Actually all before the flight I was fine, and actually trying to help one of the other guys on the trip be less nervous.

It was interesting that we had to fly out over the ocean just to leave O.C…. um guys, Vegas is the other way ;) haha… kidding, I knew we’d have to do that but didn’t realize how long we were going to be over the water. It was night… so all I can say is it was very dark. The lights looked AWESOME though through the window when we got back over land-ish areas (the harbor).

The flight was on Southwest. The attendants were SUPER nice. As we hit Baker the plane shook like CA-RAZY. The captain made everyone stay in their seats, and announced that even the attendants needed to sit down and fasten their seat belts. Ok, didn’t know that was “common” according to one friend of mine, but still, unnerving. But strangely, I didn’t actually get scared, just more alert… turned off the iPod, etc.

Back to the barf bags… I so thought I was going to need one with all the turbulence. I was surprisingly calm, but very nauseated. I had the air thingie pointed at me but I was still just wrecked. The attendant came to my rescue with the coldest darn wet paper towels ever in the history of the earth. It kept me just ok enough to not puke. Phew. Took like 15 min or so to shake it off after we got off the plane.

Flight from Vegas

Got to the airport (see the Delaware post for more) bought Dramamine. Flight home… niiiice. Dramamine works for me on a plane. (Let me just tell you it did NOT work so well for me a few years ago while on the Catalina Express…. ugh). I was just enjoying the flight…dozing off a bit actually. At one point I saw the guy in front of me and to the right sort of hanging on to the side of the plane by the window. Then I looked around and saw a few others looking a little… “green”. I was like, huh? I looked out the window… hmmm … just dark. Ohhhh then I notice the wing coming down and lights appearing…. oh, wing going back up, lights going away… looked to my left, oh, lights over there wing down. This went on for a bit, I kid you not. I was laughing inside thinking about how I could not even feel the plane turning. Yay Dramamine.

Landed, got off the plane and was so excited I was going to see Nick and Aidan waiting for me. As I walked down the stairs, I remembered how many times our situations were reversed and I was waiting for Nick to appear at the top of those stairs (both before we had the little guy and after when he was teeny tiny). Oh wait, haha, um, yah Nick always walked down the stairs, I took the escalator. Still, the reverie… Anyway, there they were. I got big hugs and Aidan LOVED his giraffe (still does).

A.D.D.

ha, this is most definitely my friend Chris B.
