Well it seems I sort of have a cold every other week or so lately. Aidan hasn’t caught my colds at all this season (thank God) but Nick caught one. And thankfully neither Nick or I caught Aidan’s tummy flu a couple weekends ago.
But other than feeling under the weather, things are well.
So far my fetal monitoring has gone well with the baby cooperating. That way I don’t have to stay an hour… it’s more like 30 min or so. I think they need 20-25 min of steady movement and the heart beat being audible. So far this little girl has gotten me in and outta there, hehe. With Aidan I was there the whole hour and they always had to use the little buzzer to make him move. Stubborn as ever, lol.
We had a great weekend, nonetheless, as my cold didn’t bear it’s full fangs until yesterday around 4 pm.
On Friday night, we just chilled out at home and had some Starbucks (Nick has a need for caffine to stay up, hehe). We played video games (rather he played, I watched – I actually enjoy it).
On Saturday we did our grocery shopping – which includes Target of course. So I just had to look at the little girlie clothes. It was the first time I let myself really “see” them and imagine my little baby wearing them. I bought one little footie/onesie outfit thingie. It’s pink and Classic Pooh. I bought it in NB size so it could be the homecoming outfit hopefully. Of course, with Aidan, although he was 7lbs 13 oz at birth and 7lbs 1 oz when we left the hospital, he had (still has) such a teeny frame/build that he had to be in premie clothes for about 6 weeks. Then he “moosed” up a lot and was wearing a size bigger, and now we’re back to him still being too small in the waist and bootie and height for even 18 month pants (and he’s 32 months haha). But he wears 24 m and 2T shirts. So we’ll see what this little girlie fits into.
Anyway, Saturday night my cousin Amber came over. She’s 16 and cute and hilarious. We always have a blast – we’re the only girls in the family. She watched Aidan while Nick and I got out for a nice dinner at Claim Jumper. I had the stuffed Idaho … so good – chicken, veggies and potato!
Then we came home (again Nick with his Starbucks). Nick then FELL ASLEEP on the couch, haha. Amber and I talked for like 3 hours about all kinds of stuff. Then we baked cookies – I taught her how to make them from scratch. We just did one batch and refrigerated the rest of the dough (which I just baked the rest of). Then Nick woke up and played Guitar Hero. After the cookies were done he and Amber played GH until 4 am!! Then we all crashed and so did not go to church in the morning, I know BAD us, hahaha.
Sunday was Taylor’s 4th birthday party (Robb and Olga’s daughter). It was great, but we left before the games because Aidan was cranky and I was not feeling right. Lo and behold shortly after we got home I did that thing I do when I get sick. I sort of get sick in time lapse photography only the “time lapse” is real time. One time I was going to Wal-Mart when I lived in Las Vegas and from the time I got out of the car feeling fine to the point where I reached the front door I was 100% sick and turned around and went right back to the car. I don’t know how or why, but when I say I “get” sick… it really is a short term action verb – get.
Today I feel a little better actually somehow. Still sick, but actually functional which I didn’t expect. I baked some cookies (it’s fun – I don’t eat them all, hehe). And I am leaving in 10 min for my fetal monitoring. Then I am meeting up with Nick’s mom for lunch and perhaps an outing to get a foofy girlie dress for the baby. It’s our little “celebration” hehe. Thankfully she doesn’t care that I’m sick at all, lol. So it makes the day less miserable.
That’s the latest. I am excited about the baby shower coming up on the 22nd – it should be very fun. AND if math serves me right, that will be the week I am NOT sick
ta ta for now….
