The Big TWO!!!!!!!
I have SO many other things to update – man, so much! But when I have time I’ll do that…
For now, I have to just say, YAY – Aidan went #2 in the potty today. He is home with Nick (Aidan has a cold? allergies? something) so Nick stayed home w/him. There is NO way I could have stayed home – sigh, lol.
Anyway, Aidan did it!!!
We had Scarlet right at potty training time, so he is over 3 and still learning. But he’s doing great.

Sharing is Divine
The kiddos are now sharing a room, which means that Nick and I are now FINALLY sharing a room other than the living room! YAY!
We slept in our bed last night – together, at the same time, without having to avoid making a sound so we wouldn’t wake Scarlet… woo!
And the kiddos did well. Scarlet’s new crib came (did I mention the old one we used for Aidan was recalled?) and Nick got it all set up last night. They did great! Both slept through the night as usual. If their room had a bigger closet and the bathroom, we’d steal it and have them use ours. Their room is bigger, lol.
Now Scarlet is not sleeping in her pack n play in our room. We felt that getting her adjusted to a new crib would be the perfect time to try her in Aidan’s room. Now it’s “the kids’ room”.
Aidan was super excited to have his baby “stister” in his room. He said, it was great, and it was ok that she was whining at first because he just closed his eyes and went to sleep. It’s ok that she whines mommy… hahahaha… as he’s whining at me right now, sigh 
Gotta go grocery shopping before Don’s 70th b-day party. Aidan’s very excited about poppa’s b-day.

Scarlet at 4 Months / Aidan at 3 Years
Scarlet Grace:
Weight: 13 pounds
Height: 24 1/2 inches
Head Circ.: 39 1/2 cm
She got a few shots, and one oral immunization. She did very very well. Also, she hit 13 lbs so she can have the .08 dose of Tylenol instead of the .04 dose.
Aidan Grey:
Weight: (still) 28 pounds
Height: (I forgot to ask – I’ll update later)
Nurse: Ok, mom you’re gonna hold his arm and hand right here.
Me: [holds hand/arm]
Nurse [to Aidan]: Is it ok if I put a band-aid on your arm?
Aidan: SURE! (he LOVES bandages… weird, hehe)
Nurse: [gives Aidan shot in left upper arm]
Aidan: [crying of course]
Me: It’s ok honey, that’s it, we’re done.
Nurse: See you have a band-aid!
Aidan: [stops crying, commences scowling at Nurse]
Me: It’s ok honey.
Aidan: [turns head sharply to me and glares] She poked my ARM!
Me: [laughter and hugs]

Balls
Aidan has a tube of 3 tennis balls that Ziya gave to him. Ziya is Pam’s husband… Pam is our daycare provider if you’re just catching up
Aidan is sitting down at his tray for dinner… I move the table away… the table has the tube of tennis balls on it… which slowly got farther away from him…
Aidan: My balls!
Me: You can play with your balls after dinner!
Nick: You walked right into that one…

Yes we’re all still here :)
Ok, so it’s been a while since my last update of actual stuff going on. And as you can imagine I haven’t had much time. So get off my back… OKAY? hehehe…
So Scarlet is growing, she’s awesome! She started daycare on Tuesday so we could get her used to it a bit. Good thing too… her first couple of days were rough and I got some phone calls with questions, etc. I can’t imagine having to field all that on my first day back at work… hello stressful!
Oh yah, I go back to work tomorrow morning! I am going back a week early… why not, eh? It will be nice to get back into the swing of things.
Aidan is super funny lately – even more than usual. Very cute with his little sister as well. Tonight he grabbed the baby’s hand and closed his eyes and prayed… “Dear Jesus… thank you for today and mommy and daddy, etc…. AMEN” how cute – he prayed with her… awwww! 
He said more than that… just giving the short version.
It’s so neat to see him grow. He’ll be 3 very soon (less than a month) and it puts all the stuff with the baby in perspective. It reminds me all the screaming will stop and become different screaming. But 3 year old screaming is ok because you usually know why and you are allowed to put them in a time out. No time out for a little baby, hehe.
Scarlet will be 7 weeks old tomorrow, woo hoo! Time flies.
Sorry for the bits and pieces… I know there’s more… more happy little nuggets of goodness but I can’t remember it all now, Scarlet is crying and I still need to eat dinner…

Ok, let’s start with Easter
I am taking us all back in time by a couple of weeks to catch you up on my updates
Easter
For Easter we actually did not go to church. Maybe we made up for all the people who only go on Christmas and Easter? hehe Anyway, it was the day before my c-section and the baby was on my sciatic nerve and there was no way I could sit somewhere that long. Plus with all the colds and stuff going around I was not up for it.
Aidan went to church with Nick’s parents that day and got jelly beans and did other fun stuff at their church.
We did go to Nick’s parents’ house for “dinner” (why must holiday “dinners” be at 3 pm? Who eats dinner at 3?!). Anyway it was delicious! We ate outside in the back yard since the weather was so nice.
It was great hanging out with Don’s family (Nick’s step-dad has the COOLEST family!).
We were going to do an Easter egg hunt but it was kind of hot and Aidan had been running around a ton and we just thought that plus no nap spelled disaster. He got his eggs later though. Grandma also colored eggs with Aidan the night before.
One of the neatest things was that Anthony (Don’s son-in-law / Nick’s step-brother-in-law hehe) brought a cool kite and got it flying SUPER high. Aidan was very thrilled with the whole thing. Too bad I forgot my camera and got no pics of anything from the day. Aidan loves Anthony sooo much and would just follow him anywhere. I think the feeling is mutual though as Anthony is always so happy to see Aidan and he always shows him something new or does something to just make Aidan’s face light up.
It was a little weird because Aidan spent the night at Don and Sharon’s on Saturday and Sunday… so when we went over there on Easter Sunday and were leaving for the night, Aidan thought he was going with us. We kept telling him what was going on, but everytime we said bye to him he said, “bye grandma” hehe. Of course he did ok when we left (he only screams when OTHER people leave, sheesh!! 
)… but we were sad to leave him there again. We missed our buddy.
Oh yah, and Easter dinner was the last time I had to give myself an insulin shot!
I am hoping I don’t end up on it again after my follow-up with the endocrinologist in May. I am not sure how my sugars are actually doing because I am sick right now, so they will run a bit higher until I am better. It’s only been 2 weeks, so time will tell. I am trying to get back on my good eating track though.

Potty Time
Aidan has been doing better with potty training. He is still just in the beginning phase. He doesn’t really understand to hold it and then say he has to go. For now we just offer the potty and he sits there and goes or doesn’t. But he’s been going most evenings before he brushes his teeth.
When he goes in the potty, he gets to pick one toy from the prize box. I made him a shiny box to get to pick from. Of course, he picked the Hot Wheels cars first out of everything else, hehe. I have dinosaur toys, bouncy balls, cars, and little eggs with M & M’s and/or Hershey’s Kisses.
